Donut Dinosaur First Birthday

This past summer H turned 1! I searched all over Pinterest trying to decide on a first birthday theme. I fell in love with the theme Donut Grow Up. While trying to find not-pink donut decorations, I came across a Donuts and Dinos invitation on Zazzle and decided H needed a Donuts and Dinos birthday!

Making the decorations definitely took longer to make then I anticipated, probably because I was "being ✨extra✨" as my husband repeatedly said. I love birthday parties and will always be ✨extra✨ when planning one.

Invitations and Flyers

I used the donut dinosaur invitation from Zazzle to make all three of these flyers. The Thanks A Hole Bunch flyer was framed and placed on a coffee table with to go boxed cupcakes and donuts. The Time Capsule flyer was also framed and placed on the dining table with legal pads, pens, sketch pads and crayons. While the adults were asked to write letters, the kids were asked to draw pictures for H's time capsule. All of his cousins enjoyed coloring pictures for him.

Activities

The kids all had fun with the donut prize punch game! I found this idea and tutorial on Pinterest. I filled the cups with little Valentine's Day party favors I bought on clearance along with donut and dinosaur stickers. The favors included things like mini bouncy balls, slinky's, toy dinosaurs and ink stamps. I purchased the brown kraft bags from the Dollar Tree and glued on dinosaurs and donuts. The dinos were Cricut access images available in Cricut Design Space. The donuts were a free svg but I don't remember where from. I will update with a link when I find it again.

I used my Cricut to write out the name poster board since my handwriting is rough. I also made name tag stickers for the Donut-Dino name game for guests to sign and wear throughout the party.

Decorations

The theme colors were royal blue, orange, teal, lime green and mint. All of my colored supplies came from Hobby Lobby. I made the tissue paper pom moms using this great tutorial I found on Pinterest.

The photo backdrop was made with plastic table cloths, packaging tape and twine using this tutorial.

The adorable donut number one balloon and dinosaur balloon came from Amazon.

After his birthday party, I used the arch, back drop and themed balloons for his 1 year photoshoot!
